We understand that there are very few things in life as stressful as moving. Our whole philosophy is based on the idea of helping reduce the stress for our clients when they move. Our services not only reduce the stress, they also save our clients significant time and physical exertion. We ensure all your belongings are packed and unpacked safely.
All our staff are well-trained and experienced in packing and unpacking homes. All our staff are mature ladies that have passed police checks. They are friendly, polite and professional and work well with clients in assisting in the sensitive nature of packing and unpacking your possessions.
The minimum booking for a pack or unpack is 2 persons for 4 hours. If you need additional hours let us know when requesting a quote.
Every property is different, however as a general rule our packers can pack 4-5 boxes per hour. This equates to approximately 30-40 boxes over a 4 hour period, which is a typical kitchen and 1-2 other rooms.
Whilst every home takes different time to pack or unpack, we do offer 2 standard packages. You can request a tailored package to suit your budget and requirements. Our standard packages are:
2 persons for 4 hours for $400 – in this time we generally pack/unpack 30-40 boxes which is a typical kitchen and 1-2 other rooms.
3 persons for 5 hours for $750 – in this time we generally pack/unpack 60-80 boxes which is a typical kitchen and 3-4 other rooms.
On the day of the service should you require additional time, our staff may be able to extend on the day subject to their availability. If you are sure you will require more time, then we recommend you book this time upfront so that we can secure time for you.
Our minimum booking is 2 persons for 4 hours. The price for this is $400 inc. GST which works out at $50 per hour inc. GST per person. If you need additional hours they are charged at the same rate of $50 per hour inc. GST per person.
You pay upfront using a Visa or Mastercard for the time booked. Should you require additional hours on the day, subject to the team be able to extend, you would pay for this on completion of the job.
Unfortunately we do have a minimum booking of 2 persons for 4 hours, so even if you don’t have that much to be packed or unpacked, you would still pay for the 4 hours.
We recommend packing your home 1 or 2 days before your moving date. If you have a large property or a lot of items, then we recommend 2-3 days before. This reason for this is that if the packers don’t get everything finished on the first day, they could always come back again on another day. Our starts times are generally 9am or 1pm.
We recommend unpacking the day after you move. Many clients request unpackers to come the same day as the removalists however we do not recommend this. Too often either the removalists are not there yet or have not finished unloading and everyone gets in each others' way. We generally start unpacks at 9am on the day after your move.
Whilst our staff are very experienced and can work independently without much direction, there will always be questions with regards to certain items. Ideally you can at least be there at the beginning. If you need to leave whilst our staff are there, either yourself or a nominated person should be available over the phone in case there are any questions.
Our team do not bring boxes nor packing materials with them. We recommend you purchase these items through our sister company, Hire A Box, and ensure you have a sufficient quantity prior to the packers arriving. The last thing you want to do is have the packers standing around because you have run out of boxes.
When you book with Hire A Packer, you will be provided with a 10% discount code to use with Hire A Box. With Hire A Box you can hire or buy the boxes, and also purchase the other packing materials required such as wrapping paper, tape rolls, and bubble wrap.
In a 4 hr booking for 2 packers, you can expect 30-40 boxes to be packed which covers a typical kitchen and 1-2 other rooms
In a 5 hr booking for 3 packers, you can expect 60-80 boxes to be packed which covers a typical kitchen and 3-4 other rooms
The boxes and packing materials can generally be delivered 6 days a week, to check the available delivery time enter your suburb onto the Hire A Box website. Alternatively give them a call on 1300 858 446.
If bookings are cancelled or re-scheduled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time, there will be no refund on the payment made, you will still pay the full rate. Prior to 24 hours, there is no charge to cancel or re-schedule a booking.
Whilst our staff are not cleaners, they can wipe down cabinets and shelves prior to unpacking your items should you require.
No, our packers are there to pack or unpack the boxes. The packers will pack boxes in each room and stack neatly out of the way in that room. Please make sure to have your removalists place the boxes in the allocated rooms in the new premises ready for unpacking.
